Har idwar has very rich ancient religious and cultural
heritage. In the ancient scriptures of India, this place
is well known by the name of Mayapur. This city is also
well known for many other things apart from the holy
river Ganges. Haridwar has privilege of having IIT at
Roorkee, formerly known as University of Roorkee,
founded in 1847 as a first technical institute of India.
The city has one of the "navratna PSUs of India" i.e
BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electricals India Ltd.). The tomb
Piran Kaliar of Shabir Shahib in Roorkee is a living
example of religious harmony in India which is visited
by the people of all religious sects from all over the
world. There is another University in the city called
Gurukul Kangri Vishva Vidyalaya apart from the head
quarter of Uttaranchal State Public Service Commission
also being established at Haridwar. Besides this, Kumbh
fair is organized at the interval of every 12 years in
this city in which about 1 crore pilgrims from all over
the world participate.
"Among the many pilgrimages that dot the length of the
Ganga, Haridwar ranks among the most holy in the land "
Accroding to Hindu mythology Haridwar was known as
Kapilsthan.
Lagend has it that the ancestors of Raja Bhagirath, were
consumed by fire at this spot following a cused of rishi
Kapil. For their salvation Raja Bhhagirath requested the
ganga to descend on Earth. Haridwar is also famous by
the names of gangadwar, Mokshadwar, Tapovan and Mayapuri.
It is at Haridwar that the Ganga finaly energes into the
northern plains. The Kumbh and the Ardh Kumbh melas also
take place here every 12 th & 6th year. |

Har ki Pauri
King Vikramaditya constructed this sacred Ghat in memory
of his brother Bhatrihari who it is believed had come to
Haridwar to meditate on the banks of the Ganga. This
ghat later came to be known as Har-Ki-Pauri (also called
Brahamakund). At twilight, golden hues of floral diyas
reflected in the river Ganga present the most enchanting
sight. The imprint of Lord Hari’s footprint hallows the
riverbank temple here. The ghat is regarded the most
sacred and auspicious point to bathe in the Ganga during
the 12 year Kumbh and the 6 year Ardh Kumbh. |

Sapt Rishi Ashram and Sapt Sarovar
According to legend the Saptarshis (seven sages) were
deep in meditation here. The Ganga, not wanting to
disturb them split herself into seven streams (Sapt
Sarovar) around them. |

Mansa Devi Temple
The temple of Goddess Mansa Devi is situated at the top
of Bilwa Parwat. The rope-way with its brightly coloured
cable cars take devotees to the old hilltop of Mansa
Devi. |

Chandi Devi Temple
The Chandi Devi temple at the top of Neel Parvat on
river Ganga’s banks was built in1929 A.D. by the King of
Kashmir-Suchat Singh. A three kilometers trek from
Chandighat, it is believed that the main statue was
established by the Adi Shankaracharya in 8th century AD.
It is at a distance of six kilometers on Neel Parvat on
the other bank of River Ganga. |

Maya Devi Temple
This is an ancient temple of Maya Devi the Adhisthatri
deity of Hardwar, known as one of the Siddhapethas. Said
to be the places where the hearts and navel of Goddess
Sati had fallen. |

Daksha Mahadev Temple
The ancient temple of Daksha Mahadev stands in the south
Kankhal town. Mythology has it that King Daksha
Prajapati, father of Sati (Lord Shiva's first wife)
performed yagya at this place, but didn’t invite Lord
Shiva (Mahadev). Feeling insulted, Sati burnt herself in
the yagya kund. Provoked by this, the ganas (followers)
of Lord Shiva killed King Daksha. Later, Lord Shiva
brought him back to life. |

Rishikesh, also known as the 'place of sages' is
Haridwar, at the confluence of the Chandrabhaga and
Ganga. It is believed that God by the name of 'Hrishikesh'
had appeared as an answer to the hard penances by
Rabhiya Rishi and henceforth the place derived its name.
It is the starting point for the Char dham pilgrims but
also for the people who are interested in meditation,
yoga and other aspects of Hinduism.
For the adventure seekers, rishikesh is the suggested
place for starting their trekking expeditions to the
Himalayan peaks and for rafting. Also, International
Yoga Week which attracts participation form across the
world, is held here, every year, in February on the
banks of the Ganga.

gateway to the Himalayan Shrines of Badrinath, Kedarnath,
Gangotri and Yamunotri. The Yoga Centres of Rishikesh

Kailash Niketan Temple
This is the main temple at Laxman Jhool and one can see
the sculptures of all Gods and Goddesses in this
thirteen storey mansion. |

Satya Narayan Temple
The idol of Lord Satyanarayan has been enshrined inside
the temple located enroute to Rishikesh, 10 kms. away
from Hardwar. The visitors use this place as a station
to halt for a casual worship. |

Shatrughan Temple
This is an ancient temple dedicated to Shatrughan, Lord
Ram's brother and is situated 5 kms. away from Rishikesh. |

Neelkanth Mahadev
The Neelkanth Temple is situated on top of a hill across
the Ganga. According to mythodology, after the Sagar
Manthan Lord Shiva drank all the effluent venom here,
which turned his throat blue, hence the name Neelkanth. |

Day 01 / Delhi - Haridwar
Morning pick up from hotel & transfer to the railway
station to board the super fast train Shatabadi Exp. to
Haridwar. Arrive Haridwar & transfer to hotel. Afternoon
visit various temples including Pareshwar Mahadev
Temple, Daksha Mahadev Temple and Mansa Devi Temple.
Evening visit Har-ki-Pauri (the footstep of God)- one of
the most sacred ghats in India. People say that this
ghat was built by Vikramaditya in memory of his brother
Bhartrihari. This ghat is also known as Brahmakund.
Later witness Aarti of the Holy River Ganges. Aarti is
the beautiful ceremony in which deeyas (the oil lamps)
are offered to God. Aarti can be done to a deity in the
temple or it can be done to a saint. It is performed to
God, in any manifestation, any form, by any name. The
essence of the aarti ceremony is a time when we say
"thank you," and we offer the light of our thanks, the

Morning spend 01 hour with astrologer to discover your

Day 01 - Arrive - Delhi
On the 1st day you arrive at Delhi and the tour operator

On the 4th day you check in at one of the ashrams in
Rishikesh and the tour itinerary for the next 3 days
includes attending yoga and meditation classes at the

Day 08 - Rishikesh - Shivpuri
On the 8th day the tour itinerary includes a drive to
Shivpuri. On your arrival here you check in at a nature
camp resort. In the late afternoon you go on a jungle
walk in the reserve forest. In the late evening you
attend a campfire and have your dinner. You stay at the
night overnight. |

Day 09 - Shivpuri
Early in the morning on the 9th day you wake up and
attend a yoga class. After your breakfast you drive to
Byasi - Kaudiyala from where you go on a rafting trip on
the river Ganges. In the afternoon you lunch at the
nature camp resort. You can spend the evening relaxing
and doing your own thing after which you attend a
campfire and have your dinner. |

Day 10 - Shivpuri
Early in the morning on the 10th day you proceed on a
half hour drive to Hindolakhal. Once you arrive at
Hindolakhal you begin the one-hour trek to Kunjapuri.
After sightseeing and exploring Kunjapuri area you join
a meditation and relaxation class. After lunch you go
back to the nature camp resort and spend some time
relaxing. Then the tour itinerary includes a trip to
Chilla for a wild life safari. You spend the night at
the nature camp resort. |

Day 11 - Shivpuri - Delhi
Early in the morning on the 11th day you attend a yoga
class and a question-answer session on yoga. After your
breakfast you raft down from Shivpuri to Rishikesh. You
have lunch at Brahampuri. You board the train for Delhi
in the evening. You check in at the hotel on your
arrival and stay there overnight. |

Day 12 - Delhi - Agra
On the next morning you drive to Agra. Enroute you visit
tourist destinations such as Sikandara. Once you reach
Agra you check in at the hotel. The tour itinerary
includes a trip to the several tourist destinations in
Agra; these are the Taj Mahal, Tomb of Itmad-ud-daula
and the Red fort. You stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 13 - Agra - Jaipur
On the 13th day the tour itinerary includes a drive to
Jaipur. You visit the tourist destination of Fatehpur

Old Delhi: Built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, Old Delhi
is known for its architectural masterpieces, crowded
streets and intensely colorful bazaars. Drive past
Chandni Chowk, the main street of Old Delhi and a lively
shopping bazaar. Visit the magnificent Red Fort and Jama
Masjid (inside visit not included for Jama Masjid), the
biggest mosque in India. Later stop to visit the Raj
Ghat, the place where father of the nation Mahatma
Gandhi was cremated following his assassination in 1948.
